5 الصفحت 5 VI- Reading Comprehension (20Marks ) Read the following passage carefully, then answer the questions below: In the year 1167, a child called Temujin was born on the lands of Mongolia. It is a country in the north of China. Its people were known for their bad habits such as killing, robbing and attacking kind poor innocent people. When Temujin was nine years old, his father was killed and his family was left poor and friendless. Because of this sad beginning, Temujin grew to be one of the strongest fighters and conquerors in the history of Man. The Mongols called him Genghis Khan, which means the leader of the world. In 1206, Temujin became the leader of all the Mongol people and started to build his bloody empire. He was a heartless warrior who destroyed whole cities and killed tens of millions. Genghis Khan died in Genghis Khan's sons kept their wars and fights until they reached Iraq and Syria where they killed millions of people. They also burnt the great library of Baghdad. When they arrived to Egypt, which was under the leadership of Sultan Seif Eddin Mahmoud from Uzbekistan, they were defeated in a big war in the year 1260 and sent back to Mongolia.
